Terre Haute, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Officials at a local hospital have set up portable medical tent because of the rise in respiratory illness cases.
“To accommodate this influx of patients, the portable medical tent has been set up outside the Emergency Services entrance on the campus of Union Hospital Terre Haute,” officials wrote in a news release. “The tent will be used for patients waiting for testing or treatment.”
Hospital officials are encouraging residents “to take precautions by practicing good hand hygiene, masking up and seeking emergency medical care if experiencing severe symptoms, especially for high-risk individuals such as young children, older adults and those with chronic health conditions.”
“Union Health reminds patients that, when possible, go to your primary care provider first,” officials added. “Convenient Care is also an option for minor illness or injury. Emergency Services is best used for life-threatening illness or injuries.”
