PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana Conservation Officers said they are investigating an incident that claimed the life of a Greencastle man after his golf cart broke through the ice of Glenn Flint Lake.
According to a press release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR), at 12:46 a.m. Saturday morning, first responders reported to the lake for water rescue after reports of a golf cart breaking through the ice.
Upon arrival, DNR said, responders located the golf cart and began life-saving measures on the operator, Jefferey Nowak, 60, of Greencastle.
Nowak was then transported to Putnam County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
