VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A new course at Vincennes University will teach people about the benefits of plants on our lives.
VU is going to offer a new therapeutic horticulture class.
Horticulture coordinator Jennifer Nettles says the course will study the different ways plants benefit people, from how plants relate to our senses to even studying how gardening helps prisoners through physical activity and communication.
“You go outside and you enjoy being outside, and gardening as a whole,” says Nettles. “We are connected to nature in that way.”
Nettles says there are a lot of job opportunities available in this field.
