CHARLESTON, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Police in Charleston have announced a person has died after being pulled from Lake Charleston by emergency responders.
According to a news release, the incident occurred at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Lake Charleston. First responders including the Lincoln Fire Protection District Dive Team were able to quickly get the victim out of the water.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Center where they were pronounced dead. According to investigating police, no crime occurred in this incident. However, an investigation is underway.
Charleston Police added that the personal information about the deceased will not be released at this time.
