TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new restaurant in Terre Haute hopes to be your family’s stop for good food and entertainment.
A ribbon cutting took place today at Haute City Center to celebrate Sandbox Social — a new restaurant and bar that also encompasses the entertainment offered at the mall.
That entertainment includes Bank of Pinball, Highlanders Axe Throwing, Ebash, and Weathertop Board and Card Games.
Sandbox Social owner Zack Johnson explains their concept.
“It’s meant to be like a gastropub, so it’s meant to be good food, a little bit higher quality than going into a bar. It’s meant to be family-friendly so we’ve got burgers. We’ve got flatbreads. We’ve got a lot of great [appetizers] that you can order, things that you can eat and drink while you’re having fun playing pinball and carry around with you, or sit down at a table and play a board or card game.”
Johnson said they have another addition planned for the Haute City Center that they’ll announce in the future.
