VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — With the start of the Vigo County Fair only a short time away, the details of all the fun events, like the Truck and Tractor Pull, are good to know before opening day.
The gates open at 5:00 p.m. and the pull begins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8. People can purchase tickets for the event at the ticket office, $15.00 for general admission, and $25.00 for the pit gate, with the event open to all ages.
“It’s with the Pro-Pulling League which is a professional pulling league that travels all over the United States and they’ll be coming in town that night and they compete,” explained Kurt Hamilton Vigo County Board Fair Member Truck and Tractor Pull Event Organizer. “Basically they have a weight transferring slab that they put tracking trackers on the front of it and that slows it down,” Hamilton said.
Hamilton has been organizing the event for almost 22 years and noted that this will be the first time in several years that the Pro-Pulling League has made its way back to the Vigo County Fair.
“It’s a very exciting event if you haven’t ever been to it, it’s a lot of horsepower, a lot of black smoke. If you’ve never been to it, it’s pretty neat,” Hamilton said.
