TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A series of discussions making stops around Indiana hopes to spark action in communities across the state.
The Engage Indiana series visited Terre Haute on Tuesday. The event featured Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers and a panel moderated by Inside Indiana Business host Gerry Dick. The discussion focused on issues facing regions around the state, with the goal of inspiring ways to address those issues.
Gerry Dick said many Indiana communities are seeing similar issues.
“A big one here is housing and the lack of affordable housing. That is true all over the state of Indiana and it’s really surprised me but that’s one of the top issues. Talent, workforce, how do companies get the workers they need to fill the positions that are open and certainly education,” Dick said.
This is the second year of the Engage Indiana series and it’s first stop in Terre Haute.
