VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Firefighters responded to a structure fire in southern Vigo County on Friday.
The fire occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. at a residence in along U.S. 41 near the Pimento gas station.
According to Kourtney Gummere, the Captain of Pierson Twp. Honey Creek and Linton Township Fire Departments, the fire was contained to the garage of the residence.

Gummere said it took firefighters 24 minutes to put the fire out. Gummere said that the homeowner was burning brush when wind caused the fire to spread to the garage.
While the homeowner was home at the time of the fire, no injuries have been reported.
