TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A section of S. 7th street will be closed to one lane as repairs are made throughout the week.
The section of S. 7th near US 41 will be under construction this week, causing drivers to move to one lane. The Vigo County Highway Department will be working to make repairs to a utility cut that has been impacted by recent weather.
“We just have one lane that’s shut down. They did a utility cut out there and over the winter that utility cut just failed so then we got all this rain and everything, so it’s gonna cause more of an issue out there so they’re going to take care of that. It’s just the utility cut issue, but there should be a crew out there this week,” said Larry Robbins, Vigo County engineer.
Highway crews will be working to resolve the issue throughout the week and motorists are encouraged to use caution while driving in the area.
