TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The Vigo County 4-H Extension hosted over 80 vendors at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds Saturday for its 12th annual holiday craft bazaar.
Vendors sold things from holiday decorations and candy to children’s books. 4-H Council Member Ranee Armstrong said she was excited to see the turnout following the pandemic.
“It’s good to see people come out because we’ve had a rough couple of years,” she said. “Most of all, they’re coming to support our cause, which in a roundabout way, is about the kids.”
Funds raised at the event went towards opportunities for local members, according to 4-h educator Sara Haag.
“Anything raised here will go towards our junior and senior members continuing education scholarships, and also trips,” she said. “The council is a great supporter of sending our members up to Purdue University to learn about careers and college opportunities.”
Haag said she hopes the event was beneficial both for the organization’s members, as well as the vendors on hand.
[Our members] actually deliver to our vendors throughout the building, so providing a service, they’re here working really hard as well,” she said. “It’s also a great way to support many, many local vendors who are gearing up to hopefully have a very successful holiday season for them.”
