SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAVW) – The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign is officially getting underway across the Valley.
The Salvation Army in Sullivan County kicked of its campaign Monday night. Bell captain Lela Street oversees the bell ringers. She said they hope to raise more than $60,000 in her community. Bell ringers will be set up at Save A Lot, Walmart, and Baesler’s Market.
Street said they do this every year to help support others.
“This is not a rich county and there are a lot of people in need. Especially this time of the year,” Street said. “And we feel this is one way we can contribute.”
If you would like to volunteer to ring the bell you can do so by contacting Lela Street at 812-268-5958.
