BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — People in Brazil will notice a new work of art along National Avenue.
The community celebrated this new mural on the side of the A & B Farmhouse on Monday.
It was painted by local artist Becky Hochhalter and was supported by a 5-thousand dollar grant from the Indiana Destination and Development Corporation.
The concept is murals within a mural. It pays tribute to a number of Brazil landmarks as well as people from the city. For example, Tuskegee airman Charles Hall and artist Judy Ledgerwood.
“We started to collaborate and think of everything that makes the city of Brazil unique and what is special about our city and so that’s how we came up with each of the individual blocks,” said Andy Stone, owner, of A & B Farmhouse”
Hochhalter commented on the process of planning and completing the mural.
“Andy and Brandon really worked hard to come up with what the pieces would be that were emphasized within this mural about Brazil and then I just kind of pulled the whole thing together and I wanted it to be very bright and colorful and vibrant.”
Hochhalter says she has many other murals planned for next year in the Wabash Valley.
