VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — On or after August 27, drivers on Interstate 70 will have exit ramp restrictions due to roadwork.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced the temporary closures of the National Ave. exit ramps off the I-70 eastbound have been rescheduled for late August.
The ramps will remain closed through the end of August, weather permitting. The closure will allow for the full-depth patching and resurfacing of the ramps as part of the ongoing I-70 construction.
Currently, parts of I-70 are restricted to one lane due to construction. Operations are happening primarily at night with unrestricted lanes Monday through Friday between 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Resurfacing operations are scheduled to start in the westbound lanes between the Wabash River Bridge and the Illinois State Line.
The entire project is expected to be completed in June of 2023. Under this same project, bridges and overpasses will also receive maintenance work in 2023.
