CAYUGA, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Audrey Ellis has been going to the Vermillion County Fair for years. And during that time, a community has grown.
“It creates a really tight knit community whose always willing to help each other out, will always do anything for each other. It’s just really fun, a great experience,” she said.
The fair, which began last Saturday, will run through June 25th. Each day includes different livestock shows, and some days include live music and other activities.
Monday marked the horse-showing competition. Ellis said it would include a number of different competitions.
Tanner Bishop is the vice president on the Vermillion County fair board. He also showed in the competition for 10 years, and said the biggest thing that brings him back is watching the growth of others.
“The leaders and the ten year members back then, now are having kids that are starting to come up in the fair,” he said. “And seeing the kids in my ten years grow and develop experience the things that I was experiencing through the ten years I was here, it just really feels good.”
Bishop said a number of events had times slightly changed due to the temperature this week, and the most updated schedule can be found on their website.
