TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Motorcycle enthusiasts can enjoy a ride and help raise money for various Veteran related causes.
The ‘American Ride for Vets’ is a motorcycle ride that will visit numerous American Legion Posts in the Wabash Valley, it’s being organized by Wayne Newton Post 346.
The ride will take place on May 14 with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and kickstands up at 11:30 a.m. The route will begin in Terre Haute at post 346 before making stops in Sullivan, Linton, Brazil, and Rockville before heading back to finish in Terre Haute. The cost to participate is $25 per bike ($30 with a passenger), the first 200 bikes to register will receive an American Ride for Vets patch.
Funds that are raised will go toward food banks that help veterans, homeless veterans, a program that buys wheelchairs for veterans, and some of the funds will go to the VFW.
Those who pre-register for the ride can make their payment through check or money orders sent to Post 346 at 1346 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47803. Those wishing to register the day of must pay in cash.
