VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind. recently purchased a more than 60,000 square foot building in hopes of expanding outpatient care among other things.
Good Samaritan’s Board of Governor’s recently approved the $1.5 million purchase of the Bierhaus Building, located at 328 North 2nd Street. The building is near Good Samaritan’s other properties, such as primary care doctors, behavioral health services and the surgery center.
The four-story building with a basement will allow Good Samaritan to increase it’s outpatient services and consider expansion of its convenient care clinics. The addition will help patients get the care they need close to home, Good Samaritan CEO Rob McLin said.
“We believe easier access for our patients, easier access for the community and the people we take care of on a daily basis is critical,” McLin said. “And this building gives us that opportunity as we go forward, so it’s a big thumbs up on our end. We’re excited.”
Good Samaritan plans to close on the building this week.
“It gives us that opportunity to grow these outpatient areas that are so critical to our future and I just think the building is set up and designed already for clinical,” McLin said. “It’s what it’s been used for, for the last several years, so it’s an easy transition for us and one were really looking forward to.”
