TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State Police found what was described as a homemade pipe bomb during a traffic stop in Terre Haute late Friday night.
According to ISP, a trooper was patrolling around the area of Locust Street and Lafayette Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Friday when he stopped a driver for an equipment violation. A search of the car revealed drug paraphernalia and a homemade pipe bomb.
ISP Emergency Ordnance Disposal team and more troopers arrived to secure the area for safety. The EOD team disposed of the pipe bomb.
The drive of the vehicle, Nathaniel J. Hoctor, 28, Terre Haute, was charged with possession of a destruction device, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person and possession of paraphernalia.

The passenger in the vehicle, Levi Gillis, 28, Clinton, was served with warrants for possession of cocaine or narcotic drug, resisting law enforcement and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person
