TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The Hamilton Center is accepting January 2021 applications for their Life Project program.
The program aims to help young adults ages 14-26 transition into adulthood by teaching them essential life skills.
Participants will meet weekly to learn cooking, cleaning, job and home repair skills.
It’s available to youth that live in Vigo, Sullivan and Clay counties.
The program is funded by the Division of Mental Health and Addictions grant.
Sabrina Harroll, the program’s grant facilitator, said the Hamilton Center wants to help bridge the gap as the youth transitions into the next phase of their lives.
“Our ultimate goal is to support and enhance the life skills of youth in our community to ensure that they are successful in independent living,” Harroll said.
The grant funds the program for two years and so far they’ve assisted 92 young adults.
