Volunteers assisted students file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.
Students were walked through the online form with their guardians and were able to ask questions, as needed. All attendees were asked to bring a copy of completed 2018 IRS 1040 tax returns, W-2 Forms, and other 2018 income and benefits information.
“It’s the main application for anybody that’s wanting to try to receive some type of money to help them go to school , to help pay for their college. A lot of the schools will go on a first-come, first-serve basis. So, the earlier they get their FAFSA completed, they may end up with some institutional funds that they run out of later in the year,” Julie Wonderlin, Director of Financial Aid, said.
The FAFSA must be filed April 15th, 2020 to be considered for Indiana Financial Aid.
