Oct 10 (Field Level Media) – The Athletics will continue their search for a president of baseball operations after Sam Fuld declined an offer for the position, ESPN reported Saturday.
Fuld is the current president of business operations for the Philadelphia Phillies and will reportedly remain in the same job.
Currently playing home games in Sacramento, Calif., the A’s are scheduled to move into a stadium currently under construction in Las Vegas for the 2028 season.
The A’s fired general manager David Forst in August as the team limped to a 64-98 record. The franchise last had a winning season in 2021 and last made the playoffs in 2020, when the club advanced to the American League Division Series.
According to ESPN, Boston Red Sox assistant general manager Taylor Smith is a top candidate to take over as A’s president of baseball operations.
