May 4 (Reuters) – An earthquake of magnitude 6 struck the Samar region of the Philippines on Monday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said.
The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), the GFZ said.
The Philippine seismology agency, Phivolcs, said damage and aftershocks were expected from the tremor.
