VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Dylan Smith, a man accused of shooting and killing a woman in a Vincennes liquor store parking lot, has pleaded guilty to murder.
A WTWO/WAWV reporter was in court Monday for Smith’s change of plea hearing.
Smith was taken into custody on August 5 after shooting and killing 30-year-old Taylor Hendershot in the parking lot of Cardinal Liquor Store.
After shooting Hendershot, police said Smith left the parking lot and went to a nearby house. A several-hour standoff then occurred.

Smith was ultimately taken into custody and charged with murder.
In court on Monday, Smith changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
A sentencing hearing for Smith has been scheduled for January 9, 2026.
