TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Students will have the chance to talk to a real-life astronaut on Saturday thanks to the ARISS program. We have discussed how that process will go and how the Gibson Allen Planetarium is livestreaming it for people to see, but that’s not all.
The Terre Haute Children’s Museum will be continuing the space fun after the 10-minute window the kids have with the astronaut is up Saturday morning. Executive Director of the museum, Susan Turner, says the museum is keeping the kids in space with some of the fun activities they have planned for Saturday.
“You can come in; you can learn how to train like an astronaut from a physical standpoint,” Turner said. “You can do hands-on science activities that revolve around space and amateur radio, and we’ll also have the Rose-Hulman Rocketry Club there to help demonstrate what they have to offer.”
The museum will be open its normal business hours on Saturday, but the space activities will only be available from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday for everyone to enjoy.
