VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person is dead and another person is facing charges after a fatal motorcycle wreck in Terre Haute.
According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just after 1:00 A.M. Sunday to a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Frye Street and Crossland Road.
Upon arrival, deputies found a deceased female on the ground near the motorcycle.
Officials say 43-year-old Robert Sekerak fled the scene and was taken to the Emergency Room by a passerby who officials say was unaware that anyone else was involved in the crash. According to police, Sekerak was walking down the road when he was picked up.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Sekerak faces charges of leaving the scene of a fatality crash and possession of a controlled substance.
The crash reconstruction team and the coroner’s officer were called in for the investigation. The investigation continues.
