TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office has released more details in the fatal wreck that occurred on State Road 46 and Lama Road on Monday.
According to a post on their Facebook page, deputies, along with Riley Fire Rescue and Trans-care Ambulance, responded to a car crash around 8:05 a.m. Monday. Upon reaching the scene, deputies noticed two SUVs that had both sustained heavy damage to the front of each vehicle.
The post continues stating that one driver, as well as one of their passengers, died from the crash. One adult passenger in the SUV did survive and was taken to the hospital to be treated for unknown injuries. The post states that the driver of the other SUV was also killed in the collision. That SUV also contained a juvenile passenger who survived the wreck and was also taken to the hospital for unknown injuries.
The Vigo County Fatal Crash Team was called to the scene for initial investigations that indicate the two vehicles collided head-on after one of them crossed the center line. The post states that the team is still gathering information, and WTWO will update the story when more information becomes available.
The post finished by stating that the names of the deceased would be released pending family notification.
