Update: SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Multiple fire departments responded to the scene of a structure fire on 1200 N in Sullivan County near the Vigo County Line.
It happened at 1693 W. CR 1200 N. in Sullivan County.
According to Thunderbird Fire Protection Territory Assistant Chief Tim Shott, the call came in just after 7:00 a.m. Friday morning.
“When we arrived, it was pretty much 70% to 80% involved,” Shott said, adding that the roof had already collapsed on the front left side of the structure.
Shott said the structure was abandoned with no utilities turned on, but noted that a vehicle was parked next to the structure in the weeds and was a part of the fire. Shott said the vehicle appeared to have recently been parked there. Both the structure and the vehicle are considered a total loss.
Shott said the cause of the fire remains under investigation
Fairbanks Fire, Pierson Twp., Honey Creek Fire, and Sullivan County Ambulance Transportation (SCAT 1) assisted on the scene.
