VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— WIN Energy REMC received a 4th-place finish among 35 teams in last weekend’s Indiana Electric Cooperative Lineman Rodeo.
The two-day event was held in Danville on August 21 and 22. The rodeo showcases the skills and safety training of the different electric cooperatives’ lineworkers. The linemen compete in events such as pole climbing, hurt man rescue, and safety changing electric line hardware.
A total of 35 teams competed, consisting of 131 individuals from 26 different energy cooperatives from across the Hoosier state. Seven Win Energy REMC employees competed in this year’s rodeo. The team received 3rd place in transformer changeout but managed to land a 4th place finish overall.
