TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Families in the Terre Haute area will soon have a new, state-of-the-art learning center available for them.
Wednesday morning, Chances and Services for Youth held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new early learning center.
The facility will be able to provide affordable childcare and early education to over 190 kids.
CASY is expecting the center to be ready for use next summer.
The facility is located on Hunt Street and CASY is using the current building there to save money.
Chief Operating Officer for CASY, Brandon Halleck, said the rest of the project was made possible with funding from Readi 2.0, Wabash River RDA, and city and county leaders.
“We’ve raised, so far, about $6.8 million, but we need about $7.5 million altogether, so we’re still going for another $700,000”, Halleck said. “I know this community is a giving community and they have an opportunity to help continue that. It’s just been so great to see so many people want to get behind a good organization and a good cause too.”
Halleck also said that Terre Haute Dancing with the Stars will be next Friday, where they will continue to raise money for this early learning center.
