MARSHALL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Parke County Sheriff’s Department took a 14-year-old male into custody on Wednesday after threats were made to a Parke Heritage School.
According to a news release from the Parke County Sheriff’s Department, deputies investigated on Wednesday after threats of gun violence were made. The release states that after a thorough investigation was conducted with the Parke County School Corporation, a 14-year-old male student was taken into custody in connection with the threats made. That juvenile is currently being held in a local juvenile detention facility.
The release states that there is currently no credible threat to the public, students, faculty, and staff of the school. The Parke County Sheriff’s Office asks the public to contact law enforcement for any information on threats of violence to any educational facilities.
