BICKNELL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person is facing several charges after wrecking his vehicle and fleeing police.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, around 11:00 p.m. on September 4, deputies responded to a call regarding an intoxicated male crashing into a fence on North Golf Course Road in Bicknell.
After an initial investigation, the press deputies approached a white male near the scene of the crash, and that’s when he fled on foot into a wooded area.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, deputies used the department drone to search adjoining cornfields and wooded areas to track the suspect. The suspect finally surrendered when a K-9 officer arrived on the scene.
The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Lyndon Goodpastor.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Knox County Jail.
According to the release, Goodpastor faces the following charges:
- Resisting law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor
- Criminal mischief, Class A misdemeanor
- Leaving the scene of an accident, Class B misdemeanor
- Operating while intoxicated, Class C misdemeanor.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Goodpaster remained in jail Friday morning on a $4,000 bond.
