JAKARTA (Reuters) -Indonesia’s central bank will make sure the movements of the rupiah exchange rate against the U.S. dollar reflect the currency’s fundamentals through mechanisms including market intervention, a senior official said on Monday.
Bank Indonesia’s head of monetary management Erwin Gunawan Hutapea made the comments ahead of Monday’s market opening. The rupiah and the stock market were stung by news of protests in Jakarta on Friday.
