VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — This year, Lincoln High School’s new print shop—that is designed, built and operated by students—will be holding pop-up shops at all home football games for fans to get their hands on fresh new gear.
For the first time, students in the school’s PTECH program and Life Skills classes will join forces to launch a new on-campus shop, which aims to blend creativity, hands-on learning, and school spirit.
“Together, they’re turning ideas into real products, gaining valuable experience in design, production, and business along the way,” according to a press release from the Vincennes Community School Corporation (VCSC).
The school corporation said the print shop will create a number of items, including shirts, window clings, hats, cups, tumblers, posters, vanity plates and more. Every item sold is created start to finish by the students.
All proceeds from items sold will go right back into the program, “fueling its growth and helping purchase new equipment like an upgraded poster printer,” said VCSC.
“We’re excited to expand by creating 3D trophies and spirit items, and we hope to set up at other school events across the VCSC district,” said Instructor Brad “Bodie” Bodart.
Students in the program will debut the items they have created during a “pop-up spirit store” at Inman Field during the Lincoln Alices’ football game against Evansville Bosse on August 22.
The store will open 30 minutes before the 7:30 p.m. kick-off and will stay open 30 minutes after the game concludes.
The store will also be open at every home football game for the Lincoln Alices this season.
Beyond pop-up shops, students will also be taking custom orders from students, parents, teachers and staff.
