GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Utilities District of Western Indiana (UDWI) has awarded 14 groups in the Wabash Valley with grant money.
The UDWI is located in Bloomfield, Indiana, and is an electric utility cooperative that serves nearly 16,000 customers in 11 Indiana counties and maintains over 2,700 miles of power lines.

- Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry
- Greene County Humane Society, Inc.
- Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry
- Knights of Columbus Council #1166
- Linton-Stockton School Corporation
- Metropolitan School District of Shakamak
- Scotland Festival Committee
- South Central Community Action Program (SCCAP)
- Stone City Alliance for Recovery and Hope, Inc.
- Tri Kappa / Alpha Theta Chapter
- Worthington Community Improvement Committee
You can make an impact on your local community by donating to organizations, and members of the UDWI can donate through Community Fund Inc.. This allows cooperative members under the UDWI to round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar and donate that to the fund. The money accumulated is then awarded to different nonprofit organizations chosen by a board specifically set for the Fund.
The UDWI REMC Community Fund Inc. is already accepting applications for its next grant cycle. All nonprofit businesses in the Clay, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Owen, Putnam, Sullivan, and Vigo county area that UDWI serves are encouraged to apply.
