TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Local middle school students are getting hands-on experience in different career pathways this week at Ivy Tech.
Ivy Tech is partnering with Vigo County Schools for a week-long event called Tech Quest. Incoming 8th graders are exploring different programs at Ivy Tech, such as advanced manufacturing, engineering, business, and nursing.
Ivy Tech partners with many high schools to offer dual credits, so this event helps students get an idea of what they want to pursue.
“They’re learning good skills before it’s too late, and you have to start over at a different level once you get to high school,” said 8th grader Reed Clutter. “It’s a good opportunity to have.”
Officials say about 100 students are taking part in the event.
