SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— UPDATE: Special Prosecutor Rob Roberts released a statement on the verdict to the media. The statement in its entirety is posted below.
“On May 12, 2025, the jury trial against William Grimes began. Grimes was charged with three counts, Murder, Burglary, and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary. The jury received the case after six days of testimony and evidence. After three hours of deliberations, a jury of eight men and four women found the defendant guilty on all three counts. The jury also found that the defendant’s sentence shall be enhanced based on the use of a firearm during the commission of the murder. Grimes is facing up to 70 years on the murder and use of firearm convictions.
Sentencing has been set for June 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.

William Ray Grimes has been found guilty on all counts in the murder of Lowell Badger.
Sentencing will take place at 1 p.m. on June 13. WTWO will add more to the story later on.
