EDGAR COUNTY IL – Edgar County officials have not offered any new updates or comments on the investigation into the death of Dakota Gibson.
In a statement posted on Facebook on April 18, 2025, by the Edgar County Sheriff’s Office, the department had “submitted to the Edgar County State’s Attorney’s Office for the arrest of a suspect in connection to this investigation.”
The sheriff’s office confirmed this morning that there were no updates in the case. The state’s attorney did not have a comment concerning the case at this time. The Illinois State Police did confirm that their Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit assisted the Edgar County Sheriff’s Department.
