TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Saturday morning was full of surprise for one Terre Haute resident who celebrated her 92nd birthday alongside family members.
Her 92nd birthday began with a knock on the door, which revealed her son Brian and his two children who flew up from Florida for the occasion. The unexpected visit was the extra push that Hopper needed to get out of bed and start the day.
Hopper still has plenty of purpose in her life and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Her love for family continues to inspire each day, especially this one.
“I really can’t see any reason that I’m here except that I’ve got work to do,” she said. “There’s still work I need to do in this world before I leave.”
Hopper takes pride in getting around without using a walker, as she is too busy for one. Carolyn and her husband Randall have been married for 73 years, and their love continues to be an inspiration to people across Vigo County.
