TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Three arrests were made after an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from a local ATM leading to an investigation by the Terre Haute Police Department and several other agencies and eventually a pursuit.
According to a post from the THPD, the agency received a report of damage to an ATM on July 21, around 6:00 a.m. at the Home Town Bank in Terre Haute on U.S. 41.
When the police arrived, they found the ATM had been damaged and an undisclosed amount of money was stolen. The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department and the THPD conducted an investigation and found a truck reported stolen from West Terre Haute near the scene of the crime.
Law enforcement then questioned witnesses in the community and got information from people in the area. Detectives were able to identify suspect vehicles and possible destinations for the suspects with the help of the witness recounts. Many agencies coordinated to help with the investigation including Missouri Highway Patrol, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department in Arkansas, and the Arkansas State Police.
Detectives were able to locate the vehicles in question while driving and attempted to stop the suspects which then led to a pursuit. At the end of the chase, three suspects fled the vehicle by foot and were eventually taken into custody.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to be in possession of a large amount of cash that happened to be “a few hundred shy of the initial stolen amount.”
Nicholas Da Von Ulloa, 27, of Houston Texas, Destani S. Jackson, 23, of Humble, Texas, and Casia M. Baldwin, 22, of Houston Texas were all placed under arrest in Jackson County Arkansas approximately six hours after committing their crimes in Terre Haute.
