TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– U.S. 41 has reopened following a truck vs. motorcycle crash near downtown Terre Haute Sunday evening.
According to a press release from the Terre Haute Police Department, the crash occurred just before 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of North 3rd Street and Maple Avenue. A witness reported seeing the motorcycle driver attempt to rev the engine and do a burnout, before losing control and striking the truck.
The motorcycle driver was transported to an out-of-area hospital for treatment of serious, but not life-threatening injuries. They were also cited for operating while intoxicated.
The identities of the drivers will not be released at this time to allow the family of the injured to be notified.
