LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Friends of Goose Pond hosted its Marsh Madness event in Linton on Saturday.
The timing of the event lines up with the migration of the Sandhill Cranes from the gulf region to the north.
Bird watchers got the chance to see these cranes along with numerous other waterfowl including a species of pelican.
Friends of Goose Pond Board Member George Sly said that of the goals of the group is to get people outdoors.
“One of our goals at Friends of Goose Pond is to introduce people to the nature world,” Sly said. “Research has shown that when people are connected with nature it’s very beneficial.”
This was the 13th annual Marsh Madness event.
