TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — “Taste of 12 Points,” a community event showcasing the Terre Haute neighborhood’s newest local businesses, is set to take place from 3 to 7 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 13 at Gold Medal Park on Lafayette Ave.
The event will showcase the new local businesses that have set up shop in the neighborhood. These businesses, along with the nonprofit group Twelve Points Revitalization and Indiana State University students, collaborated to put on the open house event.
On Saturday, businesses will offer deals and different forms of entertainment for attendees, including a hot wing eating contest, art displays and mini meditation sessions. Included among those businesses participating are: Great Giorno’s, Ferm Fresh, Studio 12, Eric’s Humble Pies, The Local Vinyl, Maker’s Studio, Sons’ Spice Co., Jitterbugs, Grace Community Church, Dedicated Health and Illumination Wellness.
Event organizer Jennifer Funk said the community is looking forward to the collaborative event.
“12 points is booming. It’s starting to blossom and it’s cleaned up and it’s starting to look better,” she said. “It’s just really nice to know that you have all these small local businesses that are run here, by people that you may know. Everybody is just very tight knit on this and everybody is so ready for it.”
The “Taste of 12 Points” event is free and open to the public.
