VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Conservation Days, an educational event teaching Wabash Valley youth about the environment, are underway this week at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
Throughout the week, the Vigo County Soil and Water Conservation District hosts fifth graders from Vigo County elementary schools. The more than 950 student participants are learning about to better care for the environment.
A total of 20 different informational stations are set up for the kids, with topics ranging from the history of agriculture to the weather. WTWO’s weather team, Jesse Walker, Dan Reynolds and Savannah Brito, are among the educators.
Organizers said the event first started in 1987. The event wraps up on Thursday, Sept. 30.
