CORY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Jeep event this weekend in Clay County will benefit research at Riley Children’s Hospital.
The fundraiser will be held at the Cory Apple Festival on Sunday. The event was organized by the family of Keaton Jackson, a child who did cancer treatment at Riley and is now in remission.
There will be a Jeep “Show and Shine” event starting at 12 p.m. Sunday and then Jeeps will kick off the parade at 3 p.m., followed by a scavenger hunt.
The family hopes the money raised from the event can support others in similar situations.
“This will go to help all those kids either battling it now or hopefully not many will be battling it in the future, but unfortunately that’s something that’s out there, so we’re just hoping to make that better for everybody,” event organizer Jessica Jackson said.
The cost to participate in the Jeep event is $20. There will also be a silent auction. For more information, click here.
