TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Registration is underway for a local program that will teach kids how to play a sport they can enjoy their whole lives.
The Vigo County Youth Soccer Association is registering kids for its Fall 2021 Recreational Soccer Program.
It’s $85 for children born in 2018 and $110 for children born 2017 through 2007. The club will provide a jersey and socks. They also have a cleats exchange program. Parents just need to provide the shin guards.
Eric Brown, a volunteer for the association, says soccer is a sport kids can enjoy for many years to come.
“You want those foot skills to be involved when they’re very, very young so that by the time they get to an older age, they can start working on more advanced stuff and that’s why this is key to get them involved at a younger age,” Brown said.
