TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Season tickets are on sale now for the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming concert season. The 96th season, title “Sights, Sounds and Stories” kicks off Sept. 25 with “Scheherazade’s Stories.”
“As I enter my 25th season with the THSO, I am delighted to offer spectacular music that I believe will appeal to the first-time concert attender as well as to the seasoned concert-goer,” artistic director and conductor David Bowden said. “I invite you to come hear this fabulous professional musical ensemble that plays all styles of music and that is located right here in Terre Haute. And we have a great first-time season subscriber offer to help make the experience affordable for everyone.”
Enhanced guest experience will be a topic of focus for the THSO during the upcoming season, according to THSO executive director and principal clarinet Samantha Johnson-Helms. The plan includes more visual elements and projections to supplement the film and movie season theme.
“We’re going to put a focus on trying to increase and improve customer experience,” she said. “Whether that’s visuals that we project to the auditorium or additional activities that we provide for customers that they can do before or after the concert.”
All concerts will be held at the Tilson Auditorium. This year’s season also includes “Disney in Concert” scheduled for April 2022.
Season tickets are good for all five concerts, including the annual holiday concert and “Disney in Concert.” Current season ticket holders must renew by June 25 to keep the same seats. Single tickets for all events will go on sale online after Aug. 10.
