ROBINSON, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — A groundbreaking ceremony at Lincoln Trail College marked the first new construction on campus since 1975.
LTC broke ground Tuesday on the next step of its Theater Renaissance project. This 3,600 square-foot addition to the Zwermann Arts Center means a new choral room that doubles as a mid-sized lecture hall along with additional practice rooms, an office and storage spaces.

“This project will have a major impact on the performing arts in Crawford County,” Chris Forde, Director of Marketing for LTC, said. “Not only will it enrich the lives of the students attending Lincoln Trail College, but it will also enrich the lives of community members of all ages that take lessons and participate in our choirs and ensembles. It will also help improve the backstage area of the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.”
Since this project started three years ago, improvements have continually happened. There has been new sound equipment, new lighting and new curtains.
All the money for this project was privately raised. The new addition should be completed by summer.
