CLARK Co., Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — A murder case in Clark County, Illinois is gaining national attention once again.
The story of 20-year-old Kaylyn Whitaker, a Clark County woman killed by her boyfriend in 2014, will be told on the Oxygen Network show ‘Accident, Suicide or Murder.
Her death originally appeared as a suicide, but officials say months later evidence showed otherwise.
In 2019, Connor Scott confessed to her murder and has since been sentenced to prison.
Local pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Roland Kohr was interviewed for the show. He said it was the persistence of Whitaker’s mother that brought out the truth.
“She wanted to see justice for her daughter. She couldn’t believe that her daughter would commit suicide. Unfortunately most suicides, when they are legitimate suicides, the family doesn’t want to accept it. But in this case I was a hundred percent behind her because I know this is not a suicide,” said Dr. Kohr.
The show will air Saturday at 6 p.m. on Oxygen.
