SHELBURN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The town of Shelburn moved one step forward in its revitalization plan Thursday with the demolition of two buildings.
Shelburn is working to eliminate dilapidated properties in order to bring more people to the community.
The two buildings demolished Thursday were an old bar and a vacant home.
The town wants to create space for new housing, a new park and draw new businesses into Shelburn.
Jay Southwood, the Shelburn Clerk and Treasurer, says revenue from an increase to Sullivan County’s local income tax is making the effort possible.
