According to Cayuga Clerk- Treasurer Tammy Hetrick, the chlorinator valve is stuck open causing to much chlorine to go into the water.
Out of an abundance of caution, she says customers should not drink the water until further notice. The superintendent of the water system, George Hinot, is overseeing efforts to fix the problem.
