Wish” won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1993. It reached #25 on the Alternative Songs chart.
There were actually two videos shot for this song. The original and another shot from concert footage in 1995 intended for release in 1996, but Trent Reznor was not happy with the final product so that video was shelved. The original video has an alternate ending. In the first ending the men trying to break into the cage throughout the video do get in with bats and clubs. MTV felt the ending was too violent so a second ending was created to make it more network friendly.
